Clare Steele is a documentary photographer living and working in Naarm/Melbourne, Australia. Through her practice she seeks to capture a contemporary narrative of connection and question the ever evolving relationship between people and place. Clare graduated with a BA of Photography from Photography Studies College, winning the Award for Documentary Photography. Her publications have been shortlisted for the Unseen Dummy Award Amsterdam and received a commendation from Australian Photobook of the Year Awards. Clare’s work can be found in the permanent archives of The National Library of Australia, Martin Parr Foundation England & The Library Project Ireland, and her photography has been exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions in Australia and internationally.
