Lives and works Sydney, Australia

David Charles Collins was born in Boorloo/Perth in 1988. He completed his MFA at Sydney College of the Arts in 2017. His work has been exhibited across Australia, China, Germany, and the UK. Specializing in photography, performance, and video, Collins focuses on representations of the body in performative action and the boundaries and readings that exist between the performers and the audience. He aims to explore how ritual and role-play are shaped by the cathartic desires, believing in exploring and inhabiting archetypes as an act of catharsis and self-analysis.

PHOTO Australia respectfully acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live, and the rich and diverse Indigenous cultures across what is now called Australia. For over 60,000 years, Indigenous arts and culture have thrived on this sacred land, and we honour Elders and cultural leaders past and present. This was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
