Jacqueline Felstead utilises photography, sculpture, moving image and new media to focus on the relationship of simulated environments to lived experience. She holds an MFA (Monash), BA (Hons), Media Art (RMIT), and completed her PhD titled Loss in a Simulated Environment at VCA (University of Melbourne) where she taught sculpture from 2019-2021. Felstead was awarded the Samstag Award which funded research at the Royal College of Art, London 2017/18; the Erna Plachte Award, University of Oxford and studio residencies to Banff Centre, Canada funded by the Mary E Hofsetter Legacy Scholarship and an Asialink Residency to Objectifs, Singapore with the support of the Australia Council.
