Joseph McGlennon (1957–) was born in Scotland and arrived in Australia in 1964. He completed a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art and a Diploma of Education at the University of South Australia and is now based in Singapore. McGlennon came to practice fine art photography after a career in design and marketing. He held his first solo exhibition at Michael Reid Gallery in 2011, and has since exhibited his work widely in Australia and overseas. McGlennon’s works typically show proud, exotic animals within unfamiliar and exotic landscapes. His compositions are deliberately unreal and each incorporates multiple photographs from multiple destinations around the world.

PHOTO Australia respectfully acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live, and the rich and diverse Indigenous cultures across what is now called Australia. For over 60,000 years, Indigenous arts and culture have thrived on this sacred land, and we honour Elders and cultural leaders past and present. This was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
