Ray Cook is a Brisbane-based photographer and lecturer. He graduated from Queensland College of Art, Griffith University with a Master of Visual Art in 2003 and went on to complete his PhD in 2014. Since 1988 he has been producing and exhibiting works that address issues relating to queer culture. In 2007, a major monograph on his practice was published by Queensland Centre for Photography, Diary of a fortunate man: Ray Cook photographs. Cook won the William and Winifred Bowness Photography Prize for his work, For God’s sake, somebody throw a pie, 2006.
