Sorcha Wilcox is an Irish-Australian visual artist, musical performer and current late-stage PhD candidate at Deakin University.

Her work investigates photographic processes, often with integration of soundscapes. Key interests lie in the development of fields through creative material, and new lines of logic that can be created from abstractions of this material.

Sorcha is also a musical performer including electric guitar and vocal performances, and composes and performs with La Bronco, Dowser, ERCHA, Sonic Electric and various other collaborations.

Sorcha currently lectures and tutors in photographic studies at Deakin University as a sessional academic.

PHOTO Australia respectfully acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live, and the rich and diverse Indigenous cultures across what is now called Australia. For over 60,000 years, Indigenous arts and culture have thrived on this sacred land, and we honour Elders and cultural leaders past and present. This was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
