Bush Dance is a documentation of music and dance events in Central Victoria. It explores the influence these gatherings have in bringing people and communities, often isolated by their location, together. Local halls and parks are transformed into a stage for people of all ages to come together and dance for a night. In some cases it is to raise money for local causes and at other times simply for entertainment. As the band plays and boots move in unison it is evident the great importance the Bush Dance plays in the fostering of community togetherness.

PHOTO Australia respectfully acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live, and the rich and diverse Indigenous cultures across what is now called Australia. For over 60,000 years, Indigenous arts and culture have thrived on this sacred land, and we honour Elders and cultural leaders past and present. This was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
