Kulin Generations presents portraits of five Elders from the Kulin Nations with one or more of their descendants. Taken on country, these images show an honest contemporary existence of Aboriginal people. The portraits are accompanied by recorded interviews considering what it is to be Aboriginal and the ways in which the Elders connect with younger generations. Featured Elders include N’arweet Carolyn Briggs, Uncle Talgium Edwards, Aunty Fay Carter and Aunty Marlene Gilson. The portraits will be presented as 3 metre tall artworks on the steps of Old Treasury Building.

PHOTO Australia respectfully acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live, and the rich and diverse Indigenous cultures across what is now called Australia. For over 60,000 years, Indigenous arts and culture have thrived on this sacred land, and we honour Elders and cultural leaders past and present. This was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
