Be the first to experience ‘a most beautiful experiment’, a new moving image work by Congo-born, Melbourne based artist wani toaishara. With his latest film, wani asks — how do Black artists use the Black gaze to challenge traditional ways of looking at Black life and representation?

Hear from wani at the opening event and see West Space’s website for additional programs that expand upon this powerful new work.

Commissioned by West Space and presented in partnership with Multicultural Arts Victoria for PHOTO24.

PHOTO Australia respectfully acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live, and the rich and diverse Indigenous cultures across what is now called Australia. For over 60,000 years, Indigenous arts and culture have thrived on this sacred land, and we honour Elders and cultural leaders past and present. This was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
