Volunteer at PHOTO 2021

We are looking for a small team of dedicated volunteers to help bring our inaugural Festival to life! From assisting with events to invigilating artworks, PHOTO 2021 volunteers will gain practical insights into event and production management, and will have the opportunity to contribute to our exciting Festival program.

What to Expect as a Volunteer
Volunteers will be rostered on 3-4 hour shifts during the Festival dates, 18 February to 7 March 2021. Volunteers are required to contribute a minimum of two shifts during the Festival. Shifts will be available on weekdays, weekends, day and evenings, and can fit around other study or work commitments.

 

Volunteers will be supported in their role by PHOTO staff via a detailed volunteer briefing and on call staff at all times.

 

Festival volunteers will work across the following roles. Duties may include:
• Invigilating artworks
– Providing information to visitors about the exhibition and Festival
– Maintaining security of the artwork
– Managing visitor’s use of the space e.g. managing numbers of people in space, prohibiting drinking/eating

 

• Production
– Undertaking daily maintenance checks (a bicycle will be beneficial for this)
– Reporting any damage to artworks

 

• Events
– Front of House duties including checking tickets, advising visitors of CovidSafe guidelines and providing information about the Event.
– Assisting with back of house e.g. providing speakers with information, advising call times, assisting with the set up of equipment

 

Volunteers will receive a PHOTO 2021 Volunteers T-shirt.

 

Festival volunteers need to be:
• Aged 18 and above
• Available to work 8+ hours during the Festival dates
• Confident, flexible and reliable
• Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Available to attend the volunteer briefing
