Arts House supports the new and the bold to thrive, amplifying independent voices and artists. We produce and present a year-round program of dance, theatre, music, installations, community projects and more. We create space for audiences and communities to gather, discuss and experience contemporary art and performance. We believe the arts are for everyone.

Arts House is located in the North Melbourne Town Hall, on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Eastern Kulin nation.

North Melbourne Town Hall was built in 1876 and repurposed for its current use as a contemporary arts space after a long campaign from key leaders in the North Melbourne community.

PHOTO Australia respectfully acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live, and the rich and diverse Indigenous cultures across what is now called Australia. For over 60,000 years, Indigenous arts and culture have thrived on this sacred land, and we honour Elders and cultural leaders past and present. This was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
