Join us for an intimate spoken word performance by Jahkarli Felicitas Romanis at the opening event for (Dis)connected to Country. Poems performed by Romanis relate and interweave with themes and experiences shared in the exhibition, expanding connections to Country and Ancestors beyond the photograph. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander audiences are advised that this performance contains themes, words and descriptions that may be culturally sensitive and which might not normally be used in certain public or community contexts.

PHOTO Australia respectfully acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live, and the rich and diverse Indigenous cultures across what is now called Australia. For over 60,000 years, Indigenous arts and culture have thrived on this sacred land, and we honour Elders and cultural leaders past and present. This was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
